JP Alvarado is a photographer and videographer specializing in sports, music, and live-event media. Originally from Dallas, Texas, his passion for sports began at an early age through playing football and baseball. Growing up around sports gave JP a firsthand appreciation for the energy, emotion, and stories behind competition, eventually inspiring him to pursue a career behind the camera.
JP began his journey in media in 2021, initially exploring photography before becoming more involved in sports photography in 2022 while covering his high school football team. This experience allowed him to develop his skills, build his portfolio, and learn how to capture meaningful moments in fast-paced environments.
After graduating high school, JP attended the University of Kentucky, where his previous photography experience helped him earn an internship with the university's athletics photography group. This opportunity became an important step in his career, allowing him to gain experience covering NCAA athletics and working within a professional sports media environment.
As his career developed, JP expanded beyond photography into videography, editing, and visual storytelling. He gained experience with industry-standard tools including Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and Photo Mechanic while continuing to develop his skills behind the camera and in post-production.
JP later expanded into the music industry, where concert videography, photography, and artist-focused content became a major part of his creative work. He has had the opportunity to shoot for and work with artists including OsamaSon, Nettspend, skaiwater, Lazer Dim 700, Homixide Osama, HXG Mali, Yung5th, Whotfis2k, Dxrop, and many others. His experience within the music scene has allowed him to develop a distinct visual style centered around capturing the raw energy, atmosphere, and culture surrounding artists and live performances.
JP is also involved with Bloody Cams, a camera collective focused on concert photography, videography, and creative media. As a lead videographer, he contributes to the collective's visual direction while collaborating with other photographers and videographers to create content across the music industry. He also works with DowntimeTV, further expanding his experience in music media and providing opportunities to collaborate with artists, creatives, and other industry professionals.
Currently studying Sports Media & Marketing at Full Sail University, JP continues to develop both the creative and business sides of his career. His experience across NCAA athletics, live music, and collaborative media has shaped him into a versatile visual storyteller capable of adapting to demanding and fast-paced environments.
Whether he's on the sidelines of a sporting event, behind the camera at a concert, or creating content alongside other creatives, JP approaches each project with the goal of capturing more than simply what happened. His work focuses on the personalities, atmosphere, energy, and emotions that make each moment memorable.
As he continues to grow, JP remains focused on building a career across professional sports and music media while expanding his work as a filmmaker, photographer, and visual storyteller.
