JP Alvarado is a photographer and videographer specializing in sports, music, and live-event media. His passion for sports began at an early age in Dallas, Texas, where playing football and baseball gave him a firsthand appreciation for the energy, emotion, and stories behind competition. That connection eventually inspired him to pursue a career behind the camera.
JP began his journey in media in 2021, initially exploring photography before photographing his high school football team in 2022. The experience allowed him to develop his skills in sports photography, build his portfolio, and learn how to capture important moments in fast-paced environments.
After graduating high school, JP attended the University of Kentucky, where his previous photography experience helped him earn an internship with the university's athletics photography group. This became an important step in his career, giving him experience covering NCAA athletics and working in a professional sports media environment.
As his career developed, JP expanded beyond photography into videography, editing, and visual storytelling. He gained experience with industry-standard tools including Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and Photo Mechanic while continuing to develop his skills behind the camera.
JP later expanded into the music industry, shooting concerts, live performances, music videos, and artist-focused content. His work has given him the opportunity to shoot for artists including OsamaSon, Nettspend, skaiwater, Lazer Dim 700, and many others. Working within the music scene has allowed JP to develop a distinct visual style while capturing the raw energy and atmosphere of live performances.
Currently studying Sports Media & Marketing at Full Sail University, JP continues to develop both the creative and business sides of his career. His experience across NCAA athletics and the music industry has helped shape him into a versatile visual storyteller capable of working in demanding, fast-paced environments.
Whether on the sidelines or in front of a concert stage, JP's goal is to create work that goes beyond simply documenting an event. He focuses on capturing the moments, personalities, and emotions that make viewers feel like they were there.
As he continues to grow, JP remains focused on building a career in professional sports and music media while expanding his work as a filmmaker, photographer, and visual storyteller.
